Three nighttime mock explosions went off in two malls and a medical center in Las Vegas, heralding simultaneous training scenarios in an exercise called “Operation Loaded Dice.” About 1,000 first responders, government officials, volunteers, evaluators, and participants were involved. The Pinellas County Campus Police Department is the only school district in Florida with an award-winning, five-dog canine unit. From visiting the students in kindergarten to searching for weapons and bombs in the upper levels, the dogs are at work protecting public school students.
